A Norwalk original since 1959

In 1959, a roadside hot dog stand in Norwalk, Connecticut, started grilling franks the way they believed they should be done. Those recipes became Swanky Franks, and for more than 60 years the menu barely changed: grilled hot dogs, fried hot dogs, spicy red hots, grilled cheese, fries and onion rings.

Swanky's was the kind of place where grandparents brought their grandkids, where regulars had “the usual,” and where guests who'd been coming for 50 years kept telling stories at the counter. Those stories are what Swanky Franks is about.
